HOSTING INTERNSHIP
Join us for three months over which multiple permaculture design courses are taught! There is a flurry of activity and many wonderful people to meet. As a host intern you will see behind the scenes of our permaculture design courses, helping with the organisational side of things and keeping everything running smoothly.
WHY TAKE AN INTERNSHIP WITH US?
We believe that you learn best by doing. That is why we have opened up an internship with a strong focus on hosting and engagement with our students and crew. You will be given the opportunity to learn and improve these skills, immersed in the everyday workings of a successful permaculture education centre.

We are looking for a person who is wanting to grow as an event organiser and has a strong interest in the field of permaculture and cultural regeneration.

Since 2020 we have a fully functioning (and growing) Arts Centre with a range of musical instruments, building and handcraft tools. We envisage Terra Alta being a centre for creativity and art towards social regeneration, so we are very open to your artistic contributions, though this is not a prerequisite.

We hope you will leave empowered to confidently move forward as an event host, permaculture designer, artist and change-maker seeding transformation in your community.

WHAT WE OFFER
We believe in a system of reciprocity, where we offer what we have - knowledge and expertise, an established, land-based demonstration site, and also food and accommodation, in exchange for highly motivated and skilled people wanting to make a difference within the world of permaculture. Please note that we do not ask interns to pay any fees nor do we provide stipends. This is a volunteer position offering the following in exchange for your commitment:

-
Food - you will have access to all our garden vegetables and our staple ingredients. Please note that we offer vegetarian and mostly vegan food (except optional butter and eggs from out chickens) and we can not cater to other dietary requirements
-
Camping: you will be able to camp in our serene cork-oak forest (please bring your own tent and camping equipment if possible)
-
Use of facilities: communal showers (hot and cold) as well as compost toilets, a community kitchen, and social spaces
-
Training in hosting a group of students and volunteers and running a course smoothly behind the scenes
-
A Permaculture Design Course: you will be able to join classes throughout your time here and receive your certificate at the end
-
Access to an arts centre with musical instruments, building and handcraft tools
-
Access to our online resource platform
-
Access to our offline resources while you're here (we have an extensive permaculture library)
-
Access to our extensive network of past students and team members via our Telegram group
-
Wifi (limited as we run on solar energy and there are always some cloudy days, though generally speaking throughout the summer there is no shortage of sunny days). Please also note that there is very limited mobile data reception on the land
